Amusement Parks

Visitors to New Jersey never run out of fun, interesting and entertaining destinations that can be found in every corner of the state.

Begin your journey at the recently renovated and expanded Liberty Science Center in Jersey City.

With a collection of almost entirely new exhibitions, it now offers an even greater learning experience – particularly in showcasing how science and technology exist within facets of everyday life.

Visitors can choose from eight exhibition areas and interact with new displays like “Skyscraper! Achievement and Impact,” where you’ll discover the many elements needed to plan, construct and maintain a tall building in urban surroundings.

Guests will also have the opportunity to walk an I-beam 18 feet above the exhibition floor and design and test their own building.

Beams recovered from the World Trade Center are on display and visitors can learn more about the science behind their collapse. “Skyscraper” is just one of many new and fascinating exhibitions now open to entertain and educate visitors of all ages.

For a wonderful day of fun and endless adventure, visit Six Flags Great Adventure, Wild Safari and Hurricane Harbor in Jackson.

It’s America's largest seasonal theme park, with more than 200 rides, shows and attractions and the world's largest drive-through safari outside of Africa that's home to more than 1,200 exotic animals roaming on 350 acres of simulated natural habitat.

More thrills await visitors at Mountain Creek Waterpark in Vernon. Carved out of a mountainside, the site features more than two-dozen rides, slides and pools on 39 acres.

Throughout the winter season, Mountain Creek offers superior skiing and snowboarding.

Mountain Creek is also home to Diablo Freeride Park that offers biking enthusiasts unparalleled thrills on more than 40 custom-built freeride and downhill mountain bike trails, including “Dominion,” “Exodus” and “Alpine.”

Diablo offers riders some of the most rewarding bike terrain found anywhere in the world.

Your children may have visited zoos before, but surely none like this. The Shore Region's Popcorn Park Refuge in Forked River provides sanctuary to injured, abused and mistreated wildlife and farm and exotic animals and it remains the only federally licensed zoo of its kind.

Atlantic City has long been renowned for ocean-side fun and entertainment and that remains the case today at the famous Steel Pier Amusement Park that offers rides for kids of all ages. Amusement games, entertainment, Boardwalk fare food and helicopter rides.

Just 10 miles west of Atlantic City is Storybook Land in Egg Harbor Township, a mainstay of family fun and excitement for more than 50 years.

It’s home to great rides and games amid impeccably maintained grounds, while offering recitations of your family's favorite childhood stories and nursery rhymes.

Morey’s Piers in Wildwood are the largest amusement piers in the world, with more than 100 exciting amusement park rides and attractions, including two large beachfront waterparks, kiddie rides, roller coasters and more.

Avoid long theme-park lines and come enjoy a classic seaside amusement park with your family. Morey’s Piers offer enough rides, games and waterparks to exhaust even the most avid amusement park enthusiast.

The recently expanded Adventure Aquarium in Camden features two massive Nile hippopotamuses within its West African River Experience, while more than 20 sharks and 850 other creatures offer a thrilling visual adventure through the Aquarium’s gigantic 40-foot shark tunnel.

You’ll get so close that you’ll sense how it feels to be squirming on the end of a fishhook.
