Cherry Hill's - 9-11 Remembrance & Patriotic Gratitude event offers families a choice between a two mile avenue scenic drive through the cherry blossoms - or a two-mile avenue walk through the two-mile avenue of blossoming cherry trees (Kwanzan). Since September 11, 2001 these cherry trees have been adorned with American flags and yellow ribbons creating a colorful patriotic spectacle in remembrance of the 2996 innocent victims of September 11, 2001 and a show a proud display of supprt to our military. Credit goes to the Cherry Hill Firefighters and the American Legion Post 372 War Veterans for making this event possible!
Families are encouraged to take their children to Chapel Avenue and have them place a flower or an American flag on any of the cherry trees and to explain to their children what this avenue represents and to relate to them the greatness that America stands for! It can be a meaningful experience for our children to learn patriotism for our country.
