Compass Rose is a Colgate 26 sloop rigged fiberglass displacement hull fin-keeled sailboat that's operated as a United States Coast Guard 'Uninspected Passenger Vessel.' The vessel is equipped with a full complement of safety, electronic navigation and communication devices.

The Colgate 26 is designed as an entry-level high performance racing / training sailboat. Performance in this context means technical sailing using a full array of nuanced adjustments to trim sail as a means of achieving maximum boat speed.
