Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular

You won’t want to miss the Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular hosted by the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee in partnership with Macy's on January 27 at 7:00 pm. The concert will feature performances by Daughtry, The Fray and Goo Goo Dolls, and of course a first-class Macy's Fireworks show from 8:45 - 9:00 pm. It will be hosted by Fox Sports' Joe Buck and Erin Andrews, with special correspondent Platinum Recording Artist and Actress, Jordin Sparks. Portions of the concert will air nationally on January 27 from 8:00 - 9:00 pm EST, on FOX Sports 1 (check local listings) and will repeat at 2:00 – 3:00 am EST on FS1.
This will be the first ever kick-off event associated with the Super Bowl, along the Hudson River at Liberty State Park in Jersey City and serve as the official launch to the weeklong events. Liberty State Park has dramatic views of the Manhattan skyline. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are a quick ferry ride away through Statue Cruises.
The park features the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ), a grand setting for much of New Jersey's transportation history. At its peak, the terminal served 30,000 to 50,000 commuters every day. It is currently closed due to Sandy Storm related damage, but the historic site is worth at least catching a glimpse.
Take a walk by through the Empty Sky memorial, the official State of New Jersey memorial that honors the memory of the 749 people that lived in or had ties to New Jersey that lost their lives at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The brushed stainless steel twin walls are 210 feet long, the width of each side of the World Trade Center Towers. The individuals' names (4 inches tall) are within reach and are engraved deep enough for hand rubbing.
Liberty Science Center offers hundreds of exhibitions in eight expansive new galleries and amazing films in the nation's largest IMAX Dome Theater. Currently on display is the exhibit Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It combines sports, history, and culture into an exciting, interactive exhibition.
Liberty State Park draws four million guests a year. So take some time while you are here to visit one of New Jersey’s top tourist attractions.
