• Overview

The Architects Golf Club is an inspired idea executed to perfection. It honor's golf's master course designers through interpretation, not imitation, to create a one of-a-kind golf experience. Each of the 18 holes simulates the style of a legendary golf architect including C.B. Macdonald, Alister MacKenzie, and Donald Ross to name a few.

With an assist from Golf Digest architectural editor Ron Whitten, designer Stephen Kay took the concept and ran with it. Rather than simply replicate the honorees' classic creations, Kay crafted fresh-from-scratch holes echoing their hallmarks.

The Architects Golf Club is great fun as a history lesson. It's even more fun to play. Ambling across rolling terrain near Lopatcong, New Jersey, the course is beautifully manicured and thrilling in its challenges, which include nearly 100 bunkers and a bevy of strategic dilemmas. The 6,863-yard layout ranks consistently as one of NJ's top public courses and often takes less than four hours for a full round.
