Action-Packed Water Park Rides
Every summer New Jersey transforms into an endless playground of water and waves (in addition to the 130 miles of sun-kissed coastline, of course). We’re talking splashy water slides, lazy rivers and drenching rides at action-packed water parks throughout the state. When you want to chill out, take your pick from these totally cool attractions:
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Jackson is filled with thrill-a-minute water rides. First, catapult your body from zero to 40 miles per hour in just seconds on Cannonball Falls, Wahini Falls, and Jurahnimo. Then, race your friends on the four-story-high Big Wave Racer to see who reaches the bottom of the 1,800-foot slide first. Make a stop at Hurricane Mountain, featuring six stunningly swift slides aptly named after some of the most powerful hurricanes on record. Then, head over to Bada Bing, Bada Bang and Bada Boom, a triple-slide complex with a slippery, high-speed chase you won’t soon forget. And raft adventurers won’t want to miss Tornado – a thundering ride down seven splash-filled stories.
In Keansburg, take the plunge at Runaway Rapids, where you’ll be greeted by more than a dozen action-packed water slides with some of the most thrilling twists, turns and plunges in the Garden State. Cool off at Mega Bunga Falls, Volcanic Revenge, Soaring Thunder, Nestea Plunge and more. High-powered action not your style? Our top picks for more relaxing ways to cool off include the Lazy River, Castaways Creek, Lost Lagoon and Comfort Cove. And for the younger set, the Interactive Play splash pool, Moon Walk, Water Mushroom and Toddler’s Reef offer hours of summer adventure.
Ever dream of catching a wave? At Beach Haven’s Thundering Surf Water Park, you can get a feel for real waves on FlowRider®, a surfing simulator ride. Other water wonders include six tube slides; a Lazy, Crazy River; Cowabunga Kids water playground; an interactive toddler area; and the 200-foot-long Rainbow Rapids water slide.
