Free and Award-Winning Wildwoods Beaches

Stretching for five miles along the shores of North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest, the Wildwoods' wide, white-sand beaches are a perfect way to spend a sunny day at the Jersey Shore. And, unlike most seashore resorts today, the Wildwoods beaches are absolutely free to enjoy with no beach tags or fees required.

Consistently growing in size year after year, the Wildwoods' beaches offer visitors an award-winning and spacious stretch of sand to relax and have fun on throughout the entire year. The Wildwoods' beaches have received many accolades throughout the years, like one of New Jersey's overall "Best Beaches," as well as the state's Best Beach for family vacations, "Top 10 Beaches for Your Money," and "Best Sports Beach."

Not only are the Wildwoods' beaches free, wide and beautiful, they also offer a variety of ways to spend the day near the ocean. Swimming in the crystal clear waters and soaking up the sun are perfect options for a day with the family. For the more adventurous types, there is a range of other beach activities including surfing, boogie boarding, fishing, power boating, jet-skiing, sailing, kayaking and whale watching. Steps away from the Wildwoods' beaches are three fun-filled waterparks with plunging waterfalls, hydrochutes, speed slides, raft rides, tube floats, lazy rivers, waterslides and rope swings, plus cool cabanas, beach bars and spas - perfect for cooling off after spending a morning in the hot sun.

Recognized for its unique special events and sporting competitions, the Wildwoods' beaches are the backdrop for a variety of one-of-a-kind festivities throughout the year including the Annual Wildwoods International Kite Festival, the largest kite festival in North America, featuring hundreds of kites from all over the world soaring in the sky above the Wildwoods' beaches. There's the annual National Marbles Tournament, which attracts "mibsters" from across the country competing to become marbles champions and the Monster Truck Races and Motocross Races on the Beach and many more.

The beach event season doesn't end in the Wildwoods once winter hits, either. The Wildwoods' beach hosts the annual Wildwoods' Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics every January, attracting hundreds of the region's bravest men and women raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for a great cause. The Wildwoods' soft, white sand also serves as the playing field for an array of sporting events throughout the summer. Barefoot soccer with more than 10,000 youth soccer players participating, volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee tournaments are Wildwoods staples. Morey's Piers also hosts the Beach Lacrosse Tournament, one of the world's only lacrosse tournaments held on the sand. The Wildwoods' beaches also host action-packed Monster Truck and Motocross races throughout the year. Seeing monster truck favorites, Bigfoot and Grave Digger, jumping over beach dunes is exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping. Monster truck rides on the beach are also offered to visitors every day throughout the summer. In addition to monster truck racing, the Wildwoods' expansive beaches are transformed into a custom motocross course with hairpin turns and huge jumps during the popular Spring and Fall Thunder on the Beach Monster Truck Races, featuring professional and amateur dirt bike and ATV races.

After a day on the beautiful beaches, guests can spend an evening walking the Wildwoods Boardwalk. Offering pure sensory overload, with more than 100 rides and attractions (more than Disneyland) ranging from world-class roller coasters and wet 'n' wild waterparks to carnival-style midway games, flashing arcades and a myriad of retail shops and eateries (more than the Mall of America). The Wildwoods Boardwalk stretches for two and a half miles overlooking the beach. Grab a towel, sunscreen, a good book and going to the beach has never been an easier decision. It's easy because it's absolutely free.
