Free Summer Shows

During the summer months, there’s no shortage of remarkable New Jersey events, especially when it comes to FREE shows. From Atlantic City shows to live entertainment in smaller towns, this quick list is sure to please budget-minded visitors looking for fun things to do without breaking the bank.

Tropicana’s Multimedia Light & Sound Show
Once the sun goes down, the boardwalk comes to life with this free show (daily, every 30 minutes from 8:30 pm to 11 pm) in front of the Tropicana Atlantic City, featuring dramatic lights choreographed to high-energy music. Plus every Saturday night throughout the summer (June thru August) at 10 pm, the Tropicana also lights up the night sky with a dazzling free fireworks display.

Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Festival – Annual Summer Series
Enjoy free jazz all summer long with this ongoing series, featuring three all-day festivals, as well as four weekly concert series, held throughout New Jersey. Starting in mid-June in Point Pleasant Boro Jazz and Blues Festival, continuing in July at the Asbury Park Jazz and Blues Festival, with the final all-day event of the season, the Long Branch Jazz & Blues Festival at the end of August held on the Great Lawn at the Promenade, right on the ocean.

Somers Point Beach Concerts
Every Friday night (mid-June - mid-September), take in a free concert at the William Morrow Beach/Municipal Beach Park in Somers Point, New Jersey. Showcasing everything from jazz and blues to country and rock, this eclectic beach concert series is perfect for a free night out. Bring a beach chair and a cooler, and enjoy some live music right on the waterfront.
