Go Glamping in NJ

Add a bit of glam to camping and presto, you’ve got glamping. Whether in a luxury tent, airstream, cabin, tree house or yurt, glamping is a unique way to experience New Jersey’s scenic outdoor charm in a little bit more, shall we say, glamorous way. Here are five amazing places to give glamping a go.

Sun Outdoors Cape May, Cape May
Halfway between Wildwood and Cape May, this camping resort offers the quintessential glamping experience.Inside each luxurious Safari Glamping Tent is a king-sized bed, two twin beds, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a microwave and a half bath. Showers can be taken in the bath house. Outside, glampers will enjoy fun extras including an 8-foot deck, charcoal grill, picnic table and fire ring. Each Safari Tent sleeps four. AC and heat are included. Pets are not permitted in tents, sorry Fido.

Triple Brook Camping Resort, Blairstown
Families can’t get enough of this camp resort near the Delaware Water Gap in New Jersey’s stunning Skylands Region. Prized for its stunning natural beauty, this region is the perfect backdrop for your next (or very first) glamping trip. Cabin options range from the two-bedroom Luxury Cabin with a living room and kitchenette to the charming one-room Cozy Cabin. Almost all cabins include a campus refrigerator, overhead fan with lights, screened windows, mattresses, table with chairs, picnic table and a fire ring. Be sure to bring the marshmallows.

Timberline Lake Camping Resort, New Gretna
Ok, you’re glamping now! This resort offers amenities from kayak rentals to volleyball courts and a variety of cabins to choose from situated on spacious wooded sites. Cabins range from the One-Room Rustic Cabin that sleeps two adults and two children to the Two-Room Deluxe Log Cabin that sleeps two adults and up to four children with a full bathroom, kitchenette, microwave and propane grill. What else you’ll enjoy: every cabin is equipped with a picnic area or porch, small refrigerator, fire ring, AC and yes, your wish has been granted, Cable TV.

Tim Tam Camping Resort, Jackson
Just a short drive from Six Flags Great Adventure and the Jersey Shore, this resort is a prime location to make glamping memories. Choose from a variety of Standard and Deluxe cabin options to be your home away from home, at least for a little while. Nestled in the woods, the cozy cabins here give you the real feel of camping with some of life’s little luxuries tossed in to make the experience a little sweeter. One and two-bedroom RV rentals are available too. Sorry, no pets permitted in rentals.

Glamping Tent at Camp Griffin, Pittstown
Glamp away in this yurt located in the heart of adventure, quaint riverfront towns, flea markets, river rafting, kayaking, farmers markets and scenic hiking. Cheery and comfortable, this circular four-season tent with a domed ceiling sits on an elevated platform on a grassy field surrounded by wildflowers. There’s even a centrally located outhouse (with a painted crescent moon) of course. Inside this pet-friendly yurt, you’ll find a full-size bed, artistic decor and a heater to keep you toasty on even the coldest nights!
