Overview
The Jim and Mary Lee Museum, located on Route 519 in Stewartsville, is located in a former Morris Canal plane tender's house that also was the long-time home of noted Morris Canal historian Jim Lee and his wife, Mary. Visitors can walk the inclined plane, have a guided tour of the remains of the powerhouse, turbine chamber and tailrace, and see canal artifacts on display in the museum and on the grounds.
Hours of operation: Open second Sunday of the month, 1 to 4 p.m. except major holidays, then the museum is open third Sunday instead. Open April through October. Open to any school or group weekdays by appointment. Park is open to the public daily until dusk.
