    Thousands of pet owners, many with their four-legged companions, are expected at the 24th annual Super Pet Expo, January 3-5 at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison, NJ. This year’s expo promises a pack of new features, more opportunities than ever for pet participation, and photo ops galore.

    Attendees can have a top talent scout audition their pet for possible roles in TV, film and commercials. They can watch their dog compete in a derby race or frolic in a puppy playground, in a pit filled with thousands of balls or chase a faux rabbit on the popular lure course. They can also get a free paw print of their pet and meet canine social media celebs at a star-studded panel of pet influencers who will explain how to grow the visibility of pets from a modest number of family and friends to worldwide celebrity. Photo opportunities galore all weekend long include celebrity pets, trick dogs, and even the world’s tiniest dog.

    New Features in 2025

    • Animal communicator Raven Noel will explain what your pet is really thinking and show you how to speak with your pet.
    • Garden State Animal Rescue Center will offer $25 microchipping, a quick and easy procedure that provides permanent pet tracking info that can’t be lost, worn out or damaged.
    • Tiny, who may be the world’s smallest dog, is available for selfies. A micro teacup Chihuahua Applehead, he weighs just over a pound and is only 4 inches tall.
    • Gerry Burch, who says his parrots are the friendliest in the world, will share his knowledge of exotic birds at his Parties by Parrots exhibit.

    New Twists on Favorite Features

    • Visitors will join Dawn Wolfe with Pawsitively FAMOUS Animal Talent Agency who in addition to auditioning pets, will emcee a panel of top pet influencers who will share how their pets went from ordinary pet to having a worldwide audience. The panelists together have more than 28 million social media followers. They include: Amber Aquart & Whiskey Toller, Bryan Reisberg & Maxine the Fluffy Corgi and Brian Benson & Magnus the Therapy Dog.
    • Repticon, in its 12th year at Super Pet Expo, is a popular showcase of hundreds of reptiles. This year, Scott Wisneski with Family Reptiles will provide exciting presentations that include exotics. Reptile experts will offer advice and sell reptile supplies.

    Favorite Feature Encores

    • Returning champion stunt dog trainer Chrissy Joy’s Bone-A-Fied Talent Group, top stunt dogs will show off their Frisbee skills, tricks and fast-paced agility. Visitors will recognize some pups from national commercials and feature films. Joy hosts “The Dog Moms” and “Farm Girl” on DOGTV.
    • TICA BreedsUnited Cat Club invites both pedigree and household pets to compete for prestigious titles and points judged by internationally trained and licensed professionals. For the details on how to join the fun, visit www.UnitedCatClub.com. Visitors will see a Bengal Cat, Maine Coon, Persian, American Shorthair--over 100 pedigree and household pets in all. There will be rescue opportunities too. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned or dry cat food that TICA will distribute to local rescue organizations. There will also be vendors providing a variety of premium quality imported cat toys, treats and accessories not found in stores. 
    • For dogs that can’t get enough of playing with balls, a romp among some 5,000 of them in the Ultimate Dog Ball Pit will be a supreme treat. It’s safe, fun, and engaging.
    • The Doggie Derby, races for Dachshunds, Corgi’s and Small Dog Breeds, in its third year, invites a family member, toy or treat to entice participants to dash to the finish line with prizes for all winners. Preregistration online is recommended. Additional fee.
    • The well-dressed pooch won’t want to miss Celebrity Catwalk where couture-loving canines strut their stuff dressed in doggie designer fashions.
    • Luring 101 is a capture the flag activity for dogs big and small, tall and short who love to chase. They take center stage in an enclosed 2,500 square-foot luring course set up to give pets a high-speed run that will thrill both them and the audience. Additional fee. 
    • All dogs are welcome to run, walk and strut in a 2,000 square foot off the leash Puppy Playground.
    • Betsy Middleton will capture a pet’s perfect pawprint—free with the cost of admission.
