    The zinc mining district of Franklin is known world-wide for an abundance of fluorescent and rare minerals. The Museum exhibits fluorescent, local and world-wide minerals, artifacts, fossils, and a safe two level mine replica. Explore on the famous "Buckwheat" a large mineral rich rock field where you can collect your own specimens, then dig for fossils and go gem panning.


    The museum offers a great "Kids Adventure Package" that's inclusive of all the fun stuff to do! Enjoy viewing the museum exhibits on your own or take our optional guided tour at 2 pm, guided tours may be preempted due to scheduled groups.


    There is an outdoor picnic area or covered pavilion available. No barbeques allowed. Vending machines for drinks or snacks. A fabulous gift shop that sells books, jewelry, specialty gifts and souvenirs. Great kids items. Plenty of free parking.
