Overview
Ironworking village with 18th and 19th century structures as well as ruins of the industrial complex that produced iron for both the Continental Army during both the American Revolution and the Union Army during the Civil War. Today, the ruins of three furnaces and other unique structures remain.
The Friends of Long Pond Ironworks offers tours of the furnace area and village on the second Saturday of the month, noon and 2 pm, April through November. The museum is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4 pm, April-Novemeber (with earlier opening on tour dates). The Museum and Visitors Center is also open by appontment throughout the year.
