Overview
The Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society (VHAS) is the oldest local historical society in New Jersey, founded in 1864, just three years after Charles K. Landis established the town of Vineland. Its collections and artifacts are shared with the public at the Society's museum which is one block south of the heart of Vineland's downtown shopping district. The museum is the oldest purpose-built museum in the state, which opened to the public in 1910.
