Michael Kline, Producer of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival, today announced the Headline Artists set to perform on the Grand Green Space on the grounds of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry in North Cape May, NJ.
Making their Festival debut on the Main Stages at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal are Madeleine Peyroux (Apr 25) and the Joey DeFrancesco Trio(Apr 23), who, along with the Robert Glasper Trio (Apr 24) headline the weekend Festival which will be staged observing all current State of N.J. and CDC covid-19 guidelines designed to keep patrons, staff, volunteers and musicians safe. Say's Kline of the planned production,"Back in October we reimagined our production, making sure to utilize safety procedures that could bring people together to take in the live music we all so needed, while safely
keeping attendees apart physically with socially distanced seating pods. Our fans and musicians responded enthusiastically and co-operated wholeheartedly with the production staff, resulting in the only live jazz festival in North
America in the last six months of 2020."
Madeleine Peyroux's extraordinary journey is one of music industry’s most compelling. Eight albums and 22 years since her debut Dreamland, Peyroux continues to challenge the confines of jazz, venturing into the fertile fields of
contemporary music with unfading curiosity. In her first visit to Exit Zero Jazz, Peyroux will be backed by her stellar trio. Robert Glasper last performed at Exit Zero Jazz in 2017. He returns to the Fest with his acoustic Trio on Saturday, April 24. A favorite son of the City of Brotherly Love, Joey DeFrancesco visits Exit Zero Jazz Festival for the first time for an evening of swinging jazz and greasy real-deal funk. The Philly native and acclaimed B-3 burner will unleash his incendiary chops backed by his Trio on Friday, April 23.
The Exit Zero Jazz Festival's Main Venue will be the Grand Green Space on the grounds of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal. Two stages will present music from 12:00pm-8:00pm each Festival day. In addition to the Headline performers named above, confirmed artists include: Joey Alexander, Kandace Springs, Matthew Whitaker Quartet, Adonis Rose Piece of Mind,Pedrito Martinez Band, Immanuel Wilkins Quartet, Alphonso Horne's Gotham Kings, Red Baraat, Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs, and more.
The Festival's Hops Pass Series features a wide array of music at Fest satellite venues including the Cape May Brewing Company, Hawk Haven Winery and Nauti Spirits Distillery. Complete lineup of Artists and Venues on the Hops Pass Series announced January 15.
