Quinn Named Deputy Executive Director of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism

TRENTON, N.J. (October 12, 2023) ─ New Jersey Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way today announced the appointment of travel and tourism industry leader, Alicia M. Quinn, as the Deputy Executive Director of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism (NJTT), effective September 25. Quinn will succeed the Division’s longtime Director of Marketing Anthony Minick, who has served NJTT since 1998 and will retire next month.

“Alicia has an impressive track record of delivering economic growth within the travel and tourism sector, while also achieving national recognition for outstanding marketing and brand strategies that enhance local quality of life and hometown pride among community residents,” said Lt. Gov. Way, who dually serves New Jersey as Secretary of State, overseeing the Division. “She has made a welcome addition to our senior leadership team at NJTT.”

“Today, the Garden State enjoys a solid foundation in which to build even stronger momentum for increased visitation and visitor spend from travelers across the globe,” said NJTT Executive Director Jeff Vasser. “Alicia’s vision and expertise translate into success for New Jersey’s tourism industry as our new Deputy Executive Director.”

Tourism in New Jersey generates $73.5 billion in total economic impact with visitor spending reaching $45.4 billion in the Garden State last year. Traveler activity continues to re-energize the state economy, evident in the $5.0 billion produced in state and local taxes alone. Such numbers reflect a strong demand for the state’s robust travel product portfolio, which is a key function of Quinn’s new job to promote.

Quinn comes to this role having previously worked as Vice President of Marketing & Strategic Alliances for Discover Lehigh Valley®, where she led the advertising and media efforts to build the region through destination marketing. Prior to her tenure in Lehigh Valley, Quinn served as Project Director for Visit Philadelphia®, delivering visitor-ready experiences that resulted in increased economic development for towns within the five-county Greater Philadelphia area.

Quinn formerly worked as the Director of Marketing during the opening of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in the Pocono Mountains, as well as Director of Public Relations & Communications for the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, where she drove the rebranding initiative to reimagine the region with its innate natural beauty, wonder and wellness potential.

A graduate of Westminster College, Quinn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations, and she is a member of U.S. Travel and Destinations International, and previous member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Mid-Atlantic Tourism PR Alliance.
