    The Salem County Historical Society Museum offers interpretive exhibits focusing on the history and culture of Salem County. The society is housed in four interconnected historic houses, the centerpiece of which is Alexander Grant's Mansion House (1721). The Grant House showcases the museum's signature exhibits, including Salem in the Revolutionary War and Wistarburg Glass. The Josephine Jaquette Memorial Library contains extensive materials for genealogical and historical research. It maintains historic books, manuscripts, documents, scrapbooks, photographs and a microfilm library of old newspapers from throughout the county. The mission of the Salem County Historical Society is to seek, document, preserve, interpret and perpetuate Salem County's heritage and to enhance the awareness and appreciation of that heritage, through its research, collections, functions, exhibits, educational programs and publications, for the benefit of future generations and for the betterment of the community. RESEARCH LIBRARY & MUSEUM HOURS - Tuesday through Saturday, 12 – 4 p.m. Admission fee $5.00; free for Members.
