Top 19 things to do in AC before 2019

If you only think of Atlantic City as a summer destination, you only have part of the story. Yes, AC’s beaches and boardwalk are perfect for sunshiny, 80-plus-degree days. But the city’s casinos, nightclubs and other attractions offer year-round excitement that’s just as postcard-worthy. To help you find some less expected seasonal fun, we’ll walk you through the top 19 things to do in AC from the weekend leading up to Halloween through New Year’s Eve:

Halloween Happenings

Before you dutifully hand out candy to little trick-or-treaters, indulge in an adults-only celebration. You can do the time warp again when you see The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the (REALLY) big screen at Tropicana’s IMAX® Theatre for one night only: Saturday, October 27. Or run screaming to the Atlantic City Chills & Thrills Halloween Getaway at The Claridge Hotel. It includes two nights’ accommodations, tickets to a masquerade dance, concert and comedy show, plus a pool party and more wickedly fun perks. You should know that this package is only available October 26 through October 28—and there’s nothing scarier than missing out!

Cultural Cravings

Whether your idea of culture is an afternoon at the ballet or a night rocking out to 1980s hair band music, AC is the place to be. The Atlantic City Ballet will perform Dracula on stage at the Circus Maximus Theater in Caesars Atlantic City on October 28. Based on Bram Stoker’s 1897 gothic horror story, it’s sure to be a frightfully good show. If your musical tastes skew more glam metal than epic score, you’ll want to get your hands on tickets to Rock of Ages at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This jukebox musical featuring classic rock hits from the 80s runs October 30 through November 3.

Awe-Inspiring Headliners

Everyone has that ONE concert that changed their life. You can find (or re-find) yours in AC during the final months of 2018. The Borgata will host such greats as The Temptations and The Four Tops on October 26 and The Doobie Brothers on November 3. Elvis Costello will be playing The Hard Rock on November 3, followed by Bob Dylan on November 17 and Foreigner on November 30. Air Supply will hit the stage at Resorts Casino Hotel on November 10, the same night Paul Anka performs at The Golden Nugget.

Hot Hoops

Eight NCAA teams that keep you on the edge of your seat go head-to-head in the Boardwalk Classic on December 15 at Boardwalk Hall. From the first tip-off to the final buzzer, watch the players of Penn State and more take it to the hole in four nail-biting games.

Jolly Holly-days

Atlantic City can get you into the seasonal spirit like nowhere else. On December 15, you can catch the 98 Degrees Christmas Show at The Borgata or be wowed by A Magical Cirque Christmas spectacular at Harrah’s Resort. Have a long “nice list” of family and friends to buy holiday gifts for? You can find all the top brands—at rock-bottom prices—in the shops at Tanger Outlets, The Walk (especially during their massive After-Thanksgiving Sale, November 23-25!)

Don’t huddle around a falling ball in the freezing cold—celebrate New Year’s Eve in style in AC! You can raise your glass at Haven in the Golden Nugget, The Pool After Dark at Harrah’s Resort, Dusk in Caesars Atlantic City, Boogie Nights at Tropicana—the list goes on and on. But, wherever you choose to ring in the new year, it’s sure to be a blowout.

Atlantic City makes for an easy day (or night) trip, by why not extend the fun? With plenty of places to stay over, you can treat yourself to a much-deserved fall or winter getaway. (You know you want to!)
