• Overview

Since 1965 the Whippany Railway Museum is dedicated to Preserving the Heritage and History of the Railroads of New Jersey through the Restoration, Preservation, Interpretation and Operation of Historic Railroad Equipment and Artifacts from New Jersey and the immediate vicinity. The Museum is opened Every Sunday from April to mid-October 12 Noon to 4 pm. Come see New Jersey's rich railroad history, lovingly restored and preserved by the all-volunteer staff of the Whippany Railway Museum. On some weekends from May to October, you and your family can ride in a real railroad caboose or experience how the Upper Class commuted by riding one of our restored Club Cars. During Easter we have special excursion rides in vintage coach cars. Your child will get a special visit from the Easter bunny as well as receive a special gift. The cars are climate controlled and decorated for the season. Tickets are available on the website.
