Ringwood State Park

Ringwood Manor was home of some of the country's foremost ironmasters. Tours of the historic manor are given Wednesday through Sunday year-round. Please call to check the daily tour schedule. The Ringwood Manor section of the park also features picnic areas, a playground, and hiking trails, as well as the park office. Shepherd Lake Recreation Area offers swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnic areas, and a playground. A concession stand and boat rentals are available during the peak summer season. Thunder Mountain, a trap and skeet range, is also located in the Shepherd Lake area. The New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands offers visitors a look at a wide variety of plants and trees in specialty gardens. The area is also home to Skylands Manor, a 44-room manor house built in the 1920s. Tours of Skylands Manor are available once a month from March through Nov. The Skylands area also boasts a number of hiking and mountain biking trails.
