Glass Open House Event!

Visit the SCC Glass Education Center on Sunday, April 12th for a Glass Open House Event!

Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free! The Glass Sale will feature handmade glass including glass flowers, jewelry, vases, paperweights, and other glass gift items from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While visiting the center, guests can tour the glass studios, view the glass collections, and watch glassmaking in action!

Also, on April 12, the Glass Education Center will be running several hands-on glassmaking workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements for each experience. Fused Glass Garden Art — 1.5-hour sessions from 12:30–2:00 p.m. or 2:30–4:00 p.m., $60.00 per person
Create a beautiful garden decoration. Participants will create one-of-a-kind garden artwork by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln.

Flameworked Color Twist Pendants (Hanging Focal Beads) — 3-hour session from 1 to 4 p.m., $65.00 per person
Spend three hours in the flame working studio using glass, heat, gravity, and simple tools to create colorful glass pendants at the torch. Each participant will have enough time to create multiple beads.

Hot Glass Flower — 1.5-hour sessions from 12:00–1:30 p.m. or 2:30–4:00 p.m., $50.00 per person
Participants will create a glass flower from the furnace in the glassblowing studio.

The Glass Education Center is located at Salem Community College, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point, NJ, parking lot A.
