Trenton, NJ—Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells today announced a one month extension of the popular “Jersey Shore Store” in Manhattan until August 9, 2009, due to its success in marketing the attractions and excitement of a Jersey Shore vacation to New Yorkers and other tri-state residents. The Jersey Shore Store has been drawing as many as 300 people per day to the interactive travel boutique.
“We were excited to bring a piece of the unique Jersey Shore experience to the mass array of prospective visitors a short drive away or train ride,” said Secretary Wells. “Moreover, the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received on the Jersey Shore Store has brought the wonder of the state’s 127 miles of pristine beaches to a whole new audience; I’m thrilled we’ll now have the opportunity to do so into August.”
Located at 813 Broadway (between 11th and 12th streets) near New York’s bustling Union Square area, the Jersey Shore Store is a literal shore oasis, featuring sand sculptures, a boardwalk, a tiki bar, the sounds of surf and seagulls and other iconic shore pleasures like salt water taffy and cotton candy. In addition, events such as live entertainment, a master sand sculptor, interactive exhibits, restaurant food tastings and a popular shore disc jockey help make the experience all the more realistic, and the thrill of a Jersey Shore getaway all the more appealing.
Perhaps best of all, planning the ideal Jersey Shore vacation has never been easier. Knowledgeable shore town travel representatives are on hand to help visitors plan vacations to fit their interests and budgets - from world-class gaming and spa resorts, to dining on par with the best in the nation, to classic, comfortable family seaside getaways.
Tourism in New Jersey is a $38.8 billion industry, in large part because of the wide array of public transportation and vacation options along 127 miles of pristine beaches from Sandy Hook to Cape May.
The Jersey Shore Store will maintain the same operation hours – Tuesdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
