TRENTON, NJ: New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way, along with local and state officials, joined together to honor the late Anthony Bourdain with the inauguration of a special food trail inspired by the acclaimed chef, author and TV host’s experiences in his native state.
The Anthony Bourdain Food Trail is the result of a resolution introduced and sponsored in June 2018 by Assemblyman Paul Moriarty (D-Gloucester), Assemblywoman Carol Murphy (D-Burlington) and Assemblywoman Angela McKnight (D-Hudson) and adopted unanimously in January 2019. The trail pays tribute to Bourdain’s New Jersey roots and spotlights 10 New Jersey restaurants featured on CNN’s iconic series, “Parts Unknown.”
Mr. Bourdain’s brother, Christopher, along with Executive Director of the New Jersey Division of Travel & Tourism Jeffrey Vasser and State Assembly members Moriarty and Murphy all joined Secretary Way in speaking glowingly of Bourdain’s passion for food, culture and New Jersey itself.
“Anthony Bourdain inspired his millions of fans to explore new cultures and experiences. We are proud that he took his show to New Jersey to share the rich and diverse food culture of his home state with the world. We invite his fans to join us, on and off the Anthony Bourdain Food Trail, and taste New Jersey’s incredible food,” said Secretary Way.
Ceremonies in Fort Lee, Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Camden, Barnegat and Barnegat Light included representatives the restaurants featured on the trail receiving a special plaque designating them as an official stop.
The 10 restaurants on the trail include:
